BeatBattle 06 a unique perspective on a new generation of labels, booking agencies and producers. Six independent young organizations honour the time old tradition of duking it out creatively. Within a 90 minute window, a team of producers from each organization will create a beat based on a funk/jazz track that will be selected on the night itself, in realtime.
You can look over the shoulders of the artists that are creating the sounds and find out what the crews and organizations are planning for 2006/2007. The night will be filled with performances by DJs and acts affiliated with the organizations. Expect good music and a very creative atmosphere.


Multiarea presents Biological v.s. Subsequent (nl)
Multiarea is an organiser of multidisciplinary events, an intermediary for talented artists and a developer of total concepts for the culture sector. Stepping up is Biological, a producer who has been releasing records since the early nineties on labels from Michel de Hey’s EC Records to Music people. He is joined by longtime Shifting Gears Collective DJ and Ohmboys co-producer Subsequent. They will be combining techhouse, breakbeat and brokenbeat with dub and triphop.

Dogdaze Productions presents Dogdaze (nl)
Dogdaze is the acclaimed offbeat-project of a 26 year old music producer currently working on releasing fresh material on a new imprint. Perhaps most reknowned for his remixes, his sound ranges from heavy broken beat to gritty downbeat workouts and instrumental hip hop. His dirty dub rework of Hipster Wonkaz’s Hot Face on Flying High Recordings in 2004 got him praise and play troughout the scene.

No Breaks presents Slice & Erjee (nl)
No Breaks is a non-profit organisation focused on promoting and stimulating aspiring artists in the field of electronic music and visual arts. For four years they have been sending their message through internet, events, samplers and FM radio. Representing are Slice & Erjee, an as of yet unsigned act that will soon take the scene by storm. Their cut and paste antics and raw electronics combined with live instruments provide a fresh sound in brokenbeat and Hiphop.

Little-D Soundlab presents 40 Winks (b) and Jls (nl)
Little-D Soundlab is an exposition-hub from Amsterdam where producers, dj’s, artists and designers can explore their creativity via it’s website, online radio, expositions and other outlets. It’s roster includes renowned artists such as 40winks (b), Estroe (nl), Jls (nl), Akida & Jolynn (us). Little-D is also a small label. The first compilation EP Weapons of Hope is slated for September 2006. For this event 40winks and Jls will represent Little-D.

Too Tall & AZ-Attic Productions presents Too Tall & AZ-Attic (nl)
From hosting and dj-ing on countless parties and the infamous Dutch Masters radioshow to rapping and producing with and for artists like Extince and Brainpower, Too Tall has been busy in hiphop for over 20 years. Teaming up with him is AZ-Attic known for his work with South East Alliance and currently busy with his new downtempojazz project called Beach Club.

B9000/BBE presents Lefto & Krewcial (b)
Since 1996, Belgian Lefto is a very demanded dj in Amsterdam, Paris and in Belgium. He's also 1/2 of the radioshow The Hop on Studio Brussel. Next to DJing and producing, He is also involved in B9000Records, an independent hiphop label selling worldwide from Gent, Belgium. Teaming up with him again is Krewcial : an MC/producer that has created albums for the BBE label and together with Lefto created the infamous Out of the Blue remix album for Blue Note.
